For the longest time, what I would do is download other people's maps, play 'em through, get upset that there was no helicopter insert/extract, BMS2MIS them, and fix that. Or I'd find walls with gaps and missing end caps. Or vehicles with no speed changing events getting stuck in orbits around waypoints. Just, in general, maps that were thrown together, suboptimally play-tested, and hastily uploaded. In the process, I've become one hell of a map editor, while bypassing my abysmal skills as a map creator.

So maybe you can get the BMS2MIS tool and tear other people's maps apart and put 'em back together. The stock maps from Team Sabre is a veritable treasure of broken maps for fixing.
