In addition to the screenshots released on the MTR website last week, we got a couple more for you in the Gallery section of the NovaWorld 2.0 alpha site. Yeah, you heard right - there's a new NovaWorld coming soon. : )

Don't get too excited yet - only the gallery page is open right now - all other functionality has been temporarily disabled. There will be a beta for NW2 in the near future.

In the meantime, enjoy a couple more shots of Angel Falls. You saw it here first.

Novalogic, Inc got something totally better 10 sewer rats (4ft tall standing sewer rats) all wire up to a computer to see what their reaction be to the game play, sad thing is two of them escape from their pens and got their hands on some M16 and taken over a police station in upper New York City (NYC) around 11:00hr (11pm), there been a stand off now for 3day. the police don't know what to do! to call the games & wild life people in or the Animal control in to get them gun-tooting sewer rats or even the swat team to take care of the whole thing. they are charging Novalogic, inc two counts of danger to the public safety for the two escape of these wild animals into the city.

Its about time nova used some proper graphics but I hope they haven't F@#'~@ up the game play like the other games.

looking forward to see how NL progress with NW2. have NL mentioned any features they are planning for it?

bigsmellyfart 10-01-2008 11:43 PM

interesting to some cod4 type roof tops and shells...
i hope there is a substantial increase if fixes power
and capability for/in the nile... would be neat to
see nile have the ability to work with radiant or
use radiant with the ability to use the df textures
and you create your own buildings and terrains
and decorations right click and they are packed
into your very own Pff file with an automatic
items def update in the pff file or whatever you call it..
so you take your nile and make maps that include
your own stuff ... it would also be nice if the new engine would be able to
use more than one mod pff file...
would be nice......

some nice ideas there.

i think the mapping format was genius from NL from the start in one way. i mean there are thousands of new maps for df games that take a few seconds to download, rather than other games that have maps 30, 40, 50MB + and just not as accessible as NL's solution.

but that meant modding was a problem.

i cant really decide which way is best. i used to love playing on new map after new map in DF, rather than stuck with the same ones or having to wait for new maps to download like in other games. but the creativity/possibilities are somewhat restricted compared to fully moddable games if you know what i mean.

Other than Nova's lack of support for modding, generally modding DF is quite easy, IMO.

Far Cry 2 seems to be headed in the same track in terms of mapping - all assets in the game. I wonder if the Ubi team have ever heard of DF... :D

i agree but an ability to make mini mods with stuff you create would be nice... the only reason those other maps are so big is the formate they create and create and create and with cod 4 they are getting closer
to the way nile does it make it once and then reuse it... still theres a lot of programming you have to do
way too much for me...programming for doors/FX/AI/,,,the list goes on...so you have to kep at it day in and day out constantly useing what you have learned ,else you forget it allthe radiant is somewhat easy
yet at the same time a wee bit complicated... i have a jail @ 85% finished... still got to do the programming for the door's ...yea right...

Delta Force: Angel Falls
Description

Set in the north-west region of Central America (near future in Colombia & Venezuela) "Delta Force: Angel Falls" takes the player to the rural, sparsely populated, jungle areas of this exotic locale. Avoiding the over-exposed Middle Eastern settings; the South American environment provides a premise which is naturally beautiful and full of new millennium conflicts.

Marginal governments, involved in local expansionism, continually scuffle with one another and with major global powers. Complicating the setting, drug cartels have evolved beyond money and violencedriven entities to political forces rivaling established governments. Influenced by current events, the game is both topical and novel.

The sometimes local philosophy of "your enemy is my friend and your friend is my enemy" gives rise to a multitude of ever-changing alliances and conflicts which drive the game's rapid action and easy-to-digest back-story. The culmination of the conflict takes place in the Angel Falls area of Venezuela providing both a spectacular setting and a surprise ending.

Game features:
