Black Hawk Down Team Sabre HD 1920x1080 Patch

Want to play Black Hawk Down Team Sabre @ 1920x1080 resolution? It's finally possible with our Black Hawk Down Team Sabre HD patch. This patch enables the widescreen resolution in the game menu and also updates the HUD so it displays properly. Special thanks goes out to Sil for making this patch possible. :hail:

This is NOT a true widescreen upgrade. DFBHD's original field of view is 80 degrees horizontally and 60 degrees vertically. If this was a true widescreen upgrade, the FOV would be horizontally widened to about 106 degrees. This patch leaves the horizontal FOV at 80 degrees, but actually narrows the vertical field of view from 60 degrees down to 45 degrees.

It doesn't widen the view, it crops the top and bottom.

It also alters the original EXP1.pff and localres.pff, meaning you have to reinstall DFBHD and TS before joining stat servers. (I made a mistake! The installer does back the .pffs up!)

Also, the sights are all flattened (This can be fixed. See the screenshot from the DFX demo below, it shows modifications I made on it), and the sniper scope crosshair is still centered high and left. I know I'm picking nits here, but still...

Added to all this, my antivirus didn't like the installer and I had to take it out of quarantine to install it. I REALLY hope I don't regret doing that.

I'm not happy with any of this. I find this patch promising, but disappointing.

:(

Maybe using the /d option and just having the files in the folder would have been better. I didn't realize people even played stat servers anymore.

The file does not contain any virus. It's ability to patch a file is probably what set your scanner off. See the VirusTotal Result

It does create a backup of all three modified files.

Yeah, so of course it's not until AFTER I've deinstalled the game that I see the .pff backups and realized I've just gone and made things difficult for myself.

Can't brain today. Got the dumb.

Anyway, I figured my antivirus got a false positive. Norton says it's WS.Reputation.1 and that it's a medium risk. It said the same about the FwO BMS2MIS, too.
