DF1 Sunday Event Success
 

Another weekend, another success. Along with many games throughout the week, this Sunday we had a full server for hours. We played CTF and TKOTH for hours with 14+ people (16 a few times) in DF1. Guys, if you want some nostalgia and to play with people that really enjoy playing the game, join the DF1 Facebook page. They are very active and love to play. If you've never played DF1 (I never did until the last couple weeks) but loved DF2 or LW, you'll love DF1 just as much.

I only ever played the demo for LW, but I loved it. Would anyone be interested in playing it? (still need to get a Windows computer up and running... yeesh)

Guys.. the lobby patch for DF1 is working. Again last night there were 6-8 people in the server for hours. Join the fun, play some DF1! haha

Ha I hope so. I really do love these games. Anything I can do to help! Maybe we'll start hosting a DFLW server soon also! Don't worry about your connection, most people these days have the same issues but most people playing are playing because they just like to.

The first two (maybe three?) DF games were basically designed for dial up connections, so I imagine 4 MB /1 MB would be lightning fast - even if you're in AUS!

Lw is v active the only problem is the 2 major squads outlaws and i forget the other one they snap up every1 leaving no room for other squads to grow so really there a big part of the game dieing lolol...them 2 squads alone have enough members for 4-5 squads which is a shame..

Oh wow, had no idea the LW servers were still up, that's great to hear. So you don't need a pinger or anything? How many active players would you guess there are?

All of the lobbies are up right now. DF1 has been pretty active at certain times. DF2 is more active on the weekends but people pop in all the time. DFLW has a few really active servers (Outlaws), TFD is dead (only coop) and it seems quite a few still play BHD/TS

JO, DFX, and DFX2 are also still fairly active (as far as Nova games go) in case in anyone is curious.

Back in 2001? Scott had the DFLW server up which i used to play on, i had 250-400 ping back then and about the same now with this connection.

Only time i had good pings was when Nova had the DFX2 server in AU which was down more than up but didn't last long.

Wow Scott, thanks for that list. Been looking for that for months - I even downloaded one of the pingers on my work computer just to try to get a glimpse into how active the player base is!

Bullet... that is good to know, was curious of that as well. Surprised DFX/DFX2 both have players.

Blade, was your connection much better on DF1/2?

Edit: That's crazy, I'm looking through the lobbies right now and LW is easily the second most active game (barely behind BHD+TS). Some server in China has 18 people on it!

I came into it when DFLW came out, never played DF1/2

DFLW in china is big, every night they have 32 players, full servers.
