Dead bodies on mount everest
This is shocking:
http://altereddimensions.net/2012/de...-mount-everest I think the story of David Sharp is the most dramatic. |
they should have made a grave yard to lay the dead in at the bottom or send the body back home after they been found, sad they all die and left out in the opening for all to see!

As said above, it's not something you do. It's extreemly cold, not much oxygen in the air, hich winds, everything you do is so much harder, just walking on your own is hard. Even if you help out you need to haul a stiff body, with little to no ogygen (all klimbers don't use extra ogygen). All you do is to get yourself killed.
Making a grave takes alot of energy too, everything is frozen so it's not so easy. But I agree that it would be a great thing if it could be done without risking your own life. And when you do climb it you should be aware of it as it's been the case for a long time. |
Actually, I think its only proper that they are left there.
I think there's something inherent in people that look at Everest and want to summit it, there's a drive and passion that must dominate someones life, anyone even looking at Everest knows its not a guaranteed thing that you will summit and/or survive... I suspect that the type of person that attempts it probably finds it comforting to know that if they do die, they'll die doing what they love and left on the mountain that dominated their life. I reckon it also probably grounds the climbers a bit, to know the risks as quantifyable figures is one thing but to see it for real when climbing... |
