Where were you on 9/11/01 when you first heard about/saw the footage of the terrorist activity?

I personally was in 3rd period weight lifting when I was told about it, but I first saw it during lunch 4th period where we had TVs. I walked into the lunch room and everyone was in complete silence watching the TV.

So where were you?

blocked in on a car park in manchester.when i was told of the news by another person that was also blocked in.
strangely i`ve just been back to the same job today.

I was in school learning Social Studies. Hate that subject. God Bless the people who have died on 9-11.

World Geography 5th period when we always watch the news.

i first knew about it when someone ICQ'd me about it.
i didnt actually know waht the world trade centre was.

1st period World history. We stopped everything and started watching CNN

Working, someone came in and told us two planes hit each other above New York, then more strange stories, then we turned on the news and CNN...absolute shock !!!

At home, my wife and I were frozen for the first few minutes after seeing the second plane hit.

At first, from the angle we saw, it looked like a small plane. Then the infamous footage was shown.

I also saw the 2nd plane hit live.

I was sleeping after a midnight shift. My wife woke me up just in time to watch Matt Lauer on the today show say oh **** live as the second plane hit.

I stayed up all day then went back to work at four until 8am the next day. I'm a cop. 2 of my coworkers lost people. One in the first plane from Boston and another in Tower 2.

Hardest, Longest, Lonliest shift ever. I told one guys about it at 4pm, he didn't know !! He was a 25 year veteran with a purple heart from Vietnam. He grabbed my shoulder and cried for 10 minutes. Saddest god damn thing i've ever seen.

God bless those that died on that infamous day.

It actually happened during 1st period, but I didn't actually hear about it until 2nd period, Political Science.

I learned then that the World Trade Center = Twin Towers

Obviously I know now just how ****ing catastrophic those towers falling down were. I saw the second tower collapse, but I had no clue that the building itself was one of the top 5 tallest in the world.

In just about every period after that we stayed hooked on the news channels, except for fourth. We had to take a quiz, because the teacher said so.

i was on the couch watching the west wing on TV, (10.30pm) when the 'interupted programming' then stayed with the american news for the next 48 hours.

i didnt exactly know what the world trade center was but when they said it i knew exactly what they meant.

I slept through the whole fiasco.

I was watching tv before school... turned on cnn... and I saw the 1st building on fire... saw the 2nd one hit live

also me to i was home moving some one in to the house. had the Tv on seen it on, at first think it was a movie or something. then after a bet of time the news' logo came on. i oh hell they did it they use a jet as a rocket.

IT'S BIT!!!!!!!! Sorry, that's just been driving up the wall for quite a while.

I was at work. At my old job we had this guy that always was playing pranks and always saying something that you would never believe. He would say all kinds of bs and people would believe him. Well I never believed anything he said. He came up to me on Sep. 11, 01 and said "The world trade center was just hit by 2 jets, and the pentagon was attacked." Now he never said the pentagon was hit by a jet. He just said it was attacked. So being me since I never believed anything he said, I just blew him off like yeah right man.

Before I know it we turn the radio on and sure enough he was telling the truth about something. Also there was a women at work that had a daughter that worked in the pentagon and she just totally broke down. It got kinda crazy for a few.

Something else that bothered people at work that day is that we worked right beside an airport. Now this wasn't no big airport like in chicago, new york, ect. This is like a very small airport that is basically used for the buisness in my town. Well anyways. People where freakin out the rest of the day at work.

"Man where gonna get hit by an airplane! These guys are idiots for making use continue to work!!" That's what everyone repeatetly said. I look at everyone and said, "I highly doubt that a terrorist is going to come in to our small ass airport and start stealing planes and crash then into our building." I mean these are tiny ass 2-6 passenger planes.

So anyways that's where I was on 9-11-01 and that's how my day was.

I just got off the computer to go to bed, Dad was as well, I went in with him to have a look at the late night news headlines on tv and we walked in and 5 secs later in comes the 2nd plane. After watching it and a lot of swearing, I went to bed, had a feeling to turn my tv on for a few more minutes and I saw footage of the pentagon on fire... so I got back up and watched it for a while before I went to bed.

I remember coming in from school and my dad sitting starring at the tv watching the events unfold on the tv..I remember him telling me how he seen the plane crash into the building over and over and how he never wanted to see that again. He could see people jumping out of the windows because they knew they was dead already. - It was all horrific.
